Yoga for Babies & Toddlers

baby_yoga_final Did you know that many of your favorite yoga poses were created with babies in mind?  Balasana, (Child’s Pose), is a common sleeping position for little ones.   Setu Bandha Sarvangasana (Bridge Pose) is performed at around five months or age, as babies become aware of the earth below and their ability to bear into their leg muscles to raise their bodies skyward.  Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-facing Dog) is a pose that babies discover right before crawling, and again right before walking.  All of these poses come natural for a developing child.  It’s natural to explore their bodies and the world around them with yoga.   And by encouraging and expanding their practice, moms will find their babies are more relaxed, playful, comfortable and happier.
