I get inspired when people put themselves on their "to do" list. Way to go.

Wow - so glad to hear from all of you with similar goals and feelings of accomplishing something just for yourself. I am making myself accountable to all of you by posting my runs and total weekly mileage. Feel free to check up on me to make sure I'm doing my training! :)

If any of you want to keep track with me, go to http://dailymile.com.

Still not so sure about the half marathon so soon in February....but it's out there!

That's great! I did a 5K on Thanksgiving as well. It was a great way to start the day! A couple of years ago, I challenged myself to do a triathlon. It was awesome and I plan on doing one again this year. But for something new, I'm training for a half marathon in the spring! I love the feeling of accomplishing something I never thought I could! I feel the same way about natural childbirth! It's amazing what the body can do!

If you put your mind to it, you will accomplish whatever fitness goals you dream. It is all about taking consistent, little steps. Follow a plan and it will take you to where you want to go... and if fear sneaks in just breathe and visualize your success. Congratulations on your race and your personal challenges. I race and have new fitness goals every year to give me something for myself. It helps make those endless loads of dishes and laundry just a small part of what I do instead of my job! I would go crazy with boredom with out personal challenges.

Good for you. Go for your goals - you'll feel great, and be able to focus on something positive and self-affirming over the holidays. Finding time for your training runs will definitely max out your tapas but I have every confidence that you can do it. Will look forward to hearing how your 10K goes.
