Thank you Jennifer for the recommendation to check out Moms In Motion - it sounds great! I also push myself by committing to races. Its terrifying, like Donna says, but once I accomplish a goal, or even come close by trying, I feel like I could do anything!! Thanks to you both for the inspiration to keep at it. :)

I love change, actually thrive on it. That being said I have been dragging my feet at learning something new lately because I am terrified by it, have none of the required skills, and fewer resources. However, I am going to do it. One step at a time. Push out of my comfort zone and make it happen.

I think there are moments in life where you simply have to take the leap, break out of your comfort zone, and live fully. Other times call for quiet contemplation, reflection and renewal which for some people may also be a form of leaving their comfort zone.

I think that you can only learn and grow by breaking out of your comfort zone. That is one reason I sign up for races and how I found myself running a marathon last fall. I found a great group of like minded women in a local group called Moms In Motion. MIM groups can be found around the country. These women have lead me on amazing adventures that I would never have tried without their support and enthusiasm.

As far as trying new yoga poses goes, I was in class yesterday and the teacher encouraged us to do two poses that I had never attempted. One of them I tried and almost accomplished (going from crow to headstand and then back up into crow... I just couldn't figure out how to switch my balance to get my head off the floor at the end. It had me laughing.) The other I could barely start before it was beyond me (I think it was a side crow coming from a different pose). I have some new challenges to look forward to in class and that will keep me charged up.
