This mom’s story

Everyone needs Mom

Everyone needs Mom

My name is Amy and I created this blog to inspire and support moms on their path to wellness.  As a stay-at-home mom with two young children, I know how difficult it is for parents to make time for their own health and happiness.

In early 2005 just before my first child was born, I was filled with excitement.  I was about to join so many wonderful women as part of this very special group – Moms.   I looked forward to tiny toes, sweet giggles and the pride of watching my child grow.  It all seemed so simple!   I had no idea how difficult sleepless nights, temper tantrums and simply keeping our home would be.  More importantly, I had no idea that I would gradually  lose my own sense of self through round the clock care for my family.

Upon realizing that I needed to take better care of myself in order to fulfill the many needs of my children and husband, I am a happier, healthier person.  I have learned much on this path, and I credit yoga, meditation, exercise, nutrition, and self-reflection.  Most of all, I thank my wonderful and supportive family in helping me put myself back on my to-do list.

The PranaMama is a community of mothers seeking to improve ourselves in body, mind and spirit.   I hope you will join us by following and commenting on this blog.  Only mothers understand the various emotions of any given day at home with children.  Let’s support eachother and become happier, healthier, and therefore BETTER MOMS!
