Who is The PranaMama?
According to Yoga philosophy, Prana is defined as the breath, vitality, or life-force energy. Prana enters the body through the air we breathe, the food we eat and the environment in which we live.
For yogis and mothers, awareness of the breath is essential. Raising children and managing a household is a wonderful responsibility, but it can be stressful and exhausting to meet everyone else’s needs day in and day out. Most of the time, a mother puts her own well-being on the back burner (right behind her family’s homemade dinner!).
The PranaMama represents and reaches out to any mom who wishes to feel more alive and more in touch with her soul. This blog offers information and inspiration for healthy habits, including the ancient practice of yoga, nutrition news and advice for nourishing yourself and your loved ones, and other forms of self-reflection and opportunities for improvement. We will also often discuss ways in which we can teach our children these healthy habits from an early age, setting them on a path to lifelong wellness.
At the start of every yoga practice, one must concentrate on the breath. By slowing the breath and focusing on filling your body with this life-force energy, all worries, obsessions, distractions, and criticisms leave your body. Where you go from there, is anyone’s guess.
Breathe and be well!
